MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- Russian online retailer Ozon has launched a hotel booking service and plans to create a travel marketplace to attract new audience, the company said on Thursday in a statement.
“To add hotels to Ozon Travel was quite a logical follow-up for us after the offer of air and railway tickets because we are going to create a full-fledged service for traveling,” Ozon said.
At present, Ozon Travel offers are aggregated from online booking websites, but in the future, hotels will get special accounts to be connected directly and manage prices on their own.
Hotel prices on the Ozon service are at the market level, not above the offers on websites-aggregators.
